Beauty and the Beast: A 30th Celebration

Beauty and the Beast: A 30th anniversary celebration

This past summer, Disney and ABC announced that they would be honouring the favourite animated film “Beauty and the Beast” with a TV special created by “Crazy Rich Asians,”

In the Heights, and ‘Wicked’ filmmaker Jon M. Chu and directed by Hamish Hamilton, the director of the 2012 London Olympic Games opening ceremony.

Rather than honouring the groundbreaking film’s 30th anniversary (which took place last year), the hybrid energy animated-live-action special will mark the anniversary of the film’s Academy Award nomination for Best Picture. Whatever the reason, the Disney Golden age favourite is definitely worth celebrating.
